Councillor Lydia Richards Backs Down
Talk Jamaica Radio understands that Lydia Richards Councillor for the Benstonton Division says she will not contest the race to unseat Lisa Hanna as the People’s National Party candidate for St. Ann South Eastern.
It is understood the decision was made today, she indicated that she will not contest on the present voters list but PNP’s General Secretary Paul Burke says the contest will still go on.
Lisa Hanna’s stewardship has been under the radar since the start of the year. It came again under the microscope following a protest over the non-paving of the grounds at Prickly Pole Primary School in Claremont.
Hanna does not enjoy the backing of three of four councillors of the St Ann Parish Council, It is understood that the delegates of St Ann South Eastern will now vote yes or no for Lisa Hanna to be the party’s standard bearer in the next general election.
