Executive Committee of Hampton School To Meet With Principal
Talk Jamaica Radio understands that the executive committee of the Board of the Hampton School is to meet with principle Heather Murray; this over a recent showing at a bail hearing of pastor Rupert Clarke who is on sex charges.
Principal Murray has come under fire after she was seeing at the bail hearing from Mr. Clarke who is charged with having sex with a minor.
Yesterday Murray issued a statement explaining why she was at the hearing. She said she went to the court in support of the wife of the pastor. Murray says she and the pastor’s wife have been close friends since the 1960s.
Chairman of the school board Trevor Blake said he understands Murray’s reason for attending the bail hearing and had no problem given that the pastor’s wife was “too devastated” to attend. However Blake says it was an error for the principal of an all girls school to have been present at the hearing.
He says the executive committee of the board will now be meeting with the principal to determine a way forward.
