Joan Gordon Webley Set To Join the PNP
Things seem set for Joan Gordon-Webley’s application to be accepted by the People’s National Party. Talk Jamaica Radio sources have revealed that Mrs. Gordon- Webley’s application was approved by the party executive and is pending ratification from the National Executive Committee which is schedule to meet later this month.
It is alleged that a heated discussion took place at the party executive committee last night, when put to a vote a large number of persons abstain, however 11 members voted to support the application while 7 members voted against. It was agreed that she would not contest a seat in the upcoming election but she would use her political influence to win seats for the PNP.
Joan Gordon- Webley has been a member of the Jamaica Labour Party for many years but in August of 2014 she resigned from the party with immediate effect.
Gordon Webley last run on the JLP’s ticket in East Rural St. Andrew and lost by just over 200 votes to Crawford in a tight race in 2011.
