The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) has rejected the government’s wage offer of a six percent increase over two years.

The association is warning that if there is no improvement to the offer by Friday then its action committee will be activated.

President of the JTA, Georgia Waugh Richards, says the vote to reject the government’s offer was unanimous and was taken during a meeting of the association’s general council held on Saturday.
