“I Have No Intention Of Withdrawing” Says Redman
The new People’s National Party candidate for St. Elizabeth North Eastern Evon Redman has denied reports that he is to step aside.
Redman states that he has no intention of withdrawing as caretaker for the constituency. The North East St. Elizabeth came in the spotlight after Evon Redman challenged sitting MP Raymond Pryce to the party’s candidate for the constituency. Pryce later withdrew from the race; Redman was confirmed after a yes/no vote was held.
Over the past week Pryce supporters have launched protest against Redman, some supporters staged a protest at the PNP’s headquarters in Kingston. This has caused a vote by the party officer core to remove Raymond Pryce as deputy general secretary, Pryce later resigned.
It is understood that the PNP is considering sanctions against some of its members who protested at the parties head quarter on Monday.
