Pryce Supporters Demand Redman Removal

Supporters of outgoing Member of Parliament for North East St. Elizabeth Raymond Pryce yesterday protest at the party head quarters after a stormy meeting. They got angry after the party insisted that they would not revese the selection of Evon Redman to the the party’s standard bearer.

Atleast nine buses of Pryce supporters travelled to the party head quarter to voice their disagreement to the results of a September 26, 2015 selection in the constituency that saw Santa Cruz businessman Redman polling 339 ‘yes’ votes from the 467 delegates who turned out.

Representatives from the protesting team were selected to meet with PNP Deputy General Secretary Julian Robinson, Pryce arrived later to much shouts from the crowd.

After more than four hours some of supporters were seen storming out. Some removed the T-shirts bearing Pryce’s image, threw them to the ground, and threatened to burn them.

They also said they would not be voting for the party in the next general election and demanded to meet with party president Portia Simpson Miller.
