Damion Crawford Is Out
The People’s National Party will have a new standard bearer in the East Rural St. Andrew constituency when the next general election is called.
Mr. Blake defeated incumbent MP Damion Crawford, he polled 207 votes while Crawford polled 166 votes, there was one spoilt ballot.
The run-off took place at the party’s Old Hope Road headquarters in St Andrew.
Problems emerged after Crawford’s announcement that he would not be seeking re-election. He later changed his mind saying that his earlier announcement was a trick.
Crawford will join colleague MPs Lloyd B Smith, Lynvale Bloomfield and Raymond Pryce who will not represent the party when the next general election is called.
